Ranching. A way of life.

Ranching runs deep in this neck of the sagebrush. The community was named after Louis Gerlach, of Gerlach Land and Livestock Company.  Over 3,000 head of cattle graze the surrounding lands. With several active ranches nearby, assisting with branding or helping round up a stray bull is not an uncommon thing for many locals.
