The Gerlach General Improvement District provides water, disposal and sewer services to the residents of the community. The office is located within the Gerlach Community Center.
GGID is governed by an elected Board of Directors (Board Chairman and four Board Members).

The school is located in the old Johnson Elementary building and is essentially a one room schoolhouse one teacher, teaching K – 8th grades. We have high school students enrolled at our school who are taking online ... Gerlach Senior Center offers home cooked meals every day.
Meals served daily at noon.
Everyone is invited.
Seniors 60 and over: $2.00 donation requested.
Under 60: $4.00 donation required.
Call the Senior Center by 9:30 am to reserve your meal for the day.

The Gerlach Volunteer Fire Department offers fire and emergency medical services to the surrounding community.
The GVFD is part of the Washoe County Fire Suppression division. The fire department has four fire trucks ad ambulences.
Volunteers are trained for structure and wildland fires. The ambulances are intermediate life support. Some emergencies are ... Washoe County Road Department maintains all roads north of Empire Farms.
